Final Post?

Post by freelander02 » Tue Mar 10, 2009 11:28 pm

The Freelander has been retired from active service. Tomorrow it will leave the fleet though remain in the family. My young cousin, Jim, will be its new driver.

Give John the opportunity, and he'll tell you a lot about his relatives, and the things he'd like to do to some of them...

And I remember when I caught hell from Harold for saying the Freelander was pretty good in its own right.

I was impressed with the way you got the little Freelander around offroad John. You took it places I did not think it would make it.

What made you give it up?

How's the Disco doing for you?

The Freelander is impressive, even to its last offroad run with me. It climbed easily up an icy hill where Disco spun tyre.

Why give it up? It just seemed time. I wanted a Disco3 but financial matters did not allow that to happen. The clincher was the ability to pass it to my 18 y.o. cousin and help him out.

I really like the Disco2. The mileage is a killer though. :)

Honda was actually given first shot to develop the Freelander. What could of been. A crazy pipe dream called 'reliability'.

Yeah, but it would have been boring and nowhere near as capable offroad. (Not that the freeloader was that good, but it was better than anything Honda has ever made.)
