So did the Range Rover Classic ever get sold with a diesel engine in the US? How about a manual gearbox?

I don't think so. There's a few gray market anomalies out there though.
Diesel powered engines and parabolic leaf springs. These are a few of my favorite things.

It definitely wasn't sold with a diesel, but there are folks out there who have retrofitted various diesels to RRCs and P38s. There are a couple who post in the Land Rover forum over on http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/f ... Land-Rover

I've seen at least one RRC for sale here in the US with a manual gearbox, but I don't know if it was an import or if the auto had been swapped out.
