20 year anniversary

Post by series guy » Thu Oct 26, 2017 4:13 pm

It's been 20 years since Lisa and I bought our first Rover, a 1964 Series IIa station wagon. In order to keep the interest peaked we've run through a few Rovers from a Series I to a Range Rover many of which have contributed greatly to the delay in getting the 64 on the road. Now that we are down to just the project truck progress is accelerating. The bulkhead is repaired and in epoxy primer as well as the breakfast. If I can get them painted before winter then it should be no problem having the truck on the road by early summer. The chassis is done just waiting for the body and the necessary parts are currently aging to perfection. Even though it was originally a LHD station wagon it's being built as a RHD truck cab. I'm glad I never gave up and parted this truck.

Not much progress over the frigid winter months. I did some finish work on the bulkhead and just picked up the paint this week. The breakfast, bulkhead, and doors are going to a friends shop for paint in two weeks. Hopefully by then better weather will enable progress.

Good deal. It does seem the weather has turned for the better.
